Things to do in Old Downtown Bonita

  • Biking – from the Riverside Park to the Bonita Nature Center.
  • Hike – through the Nature Center. See three different Florida habitats right next to each other. Cypress, wild coffee, rare string fern are just a few of the unique botanical features of the trails.
  • Botanical Jungle – the Everglades Wonder Gardens is a jungle right in the middle of Old Downtown. With a bridge over the alligator pond and wild exotic plants and animals throughout.
  • The streets are walking friendly and after your workout try the Spa or get your hair done while your laundry is being done at the laundromat.
  • The Imperial River runs through Riverside Park where kayaking, paddle boarding, yoga, and fishing are all available to the visitor and local alike.
  • Looking for a house, condo, or new development? Realtors are right here in Old Downtown.
  • Eat, Super subs, BBQ, Mexican, cafe, pizza, ice cream, or make your own from the grocery store.
  • Tours – history walks, Imperial River paddles, bat tours, Wonder Garden Tours, and much more.
  • Museum – The Bonita Springs Historical Society is housed in Riverside Park in the historic Liles Hotel which they share with City Code Enforcement. They have museum rooms and a small book store in the building. Then there is the McSwain House they are restoring and the Dome house soon to be moved to the Park.
  • There are several gas stations close by for convenience.
  • The events! – Riverfest, Imperial River Challenge, Holiday in the Park, Taste of Bonita, Blues Festival, Celebrate Bonita, National Art Show, CGT Time Trials, and assorted concerts and movies in the Park.
