The Imperial River is one of few in southwest Florida that flows from its source in the Corkscrew Swamp and into Estero Bay without man made interference. Along the river is found an assortment of wildlife, both native and exotic, including.manatees, alligators, wading birds to iguanas, parrots and basilisk lizards. Enjoy seeing native and exotic plants, like bamboo and a 100 year old banyan tree, flourish along the river which passes under a bridge that is home to more than 1,000 Brazilian freetail bats.
