CELEBRATE BONITA FESTIVAL

Celebrate Bonita 2024 is coming to Riverside Park on April 27, 2024! From 6 pm to 9 pm, the City of Bonita Springs will be hosting a free outdoor concert in Downtown Bonita at Riverside Park.
The event is free to the public.

In celebration of the 25th anniversary, the city will have two nationally known acts. Headlining the concert will be LOCASH, “country music's iconic feel-good duo,” as dubbed by PEOPLE. Comprised of Preston Brust and Chris Lucas, LOCASH are adding a new dimension to their hitmaking career with the launch of their own record label – Galaxy Label Group. With fresh music expected to release in spring, this new era follows back-to-back high-profile collaborations “Let It Slide” (Leslie Jordan, Blanco Brown, LOCASH) and “Beach Boys” (feat. The Beach Boys’ Mike Love and Bruce Johnston). Known for PLATINUM breakout “I Love This Life” and GOLD #1’s “One Big Country Song” and “I Know Somebody,” they’ve earned eight charting singles, two successful albums, and nearly 800 MILLION global on-demand streams.

The celebration includes an opening act by Tyler Farr. “One of the best male vocalists in Country music today” (Taste of Country), Tyler Farr is the first artist signed to Jason Aldean’s Night Train Records/BBR Music Group. Farr’s Platinum-selling title-track “Redneck Crazy” projected Farr forward to celebrate back-to-back No. 1 singles, including his first No. 1 as a songwriter, with his Platinum-certified hit “Whiskey in my Water”.

Food and beverages will be sold at the event. Proceeds from refreshment sales will benefit the Bonita Springs Assistance Office. Take part in the amazing celebration of our great city, it will be a fun and memorable experience! Wilson Street to Childers Street on Old 41 Road will close at 5:00 p.m. for the evening festivities, to ensure pedestrian safety. The road will reopen after the event at approximately 10:00 pm. For questions or comments, please contact the City of Bonita Springs City Hall at 239-949-6262 or visit our website at www.cityofbonitasprings.org

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) held a public hearing for the US 41 (SR 45) at Bonita Beach Road Project Development & Environment (PD&E) Study in Lee County on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. This study evaluates potential capacity and safety improvements, as well as multi-modal features to address congestion and meet future demand. Additional components under consideration include crosswalks with a pedestrian hybrid beacon, a new transit stop, and 12-foot wide shared-use paths at all intersection approaches.

The hearing presented the preferred alternative and all analysis to date, as well as to gave interested persons an opportunity to express their views concerning the location, conceptual design, and social,
economic, and environmental effects of the proposed improvements. Throughout this process, FDOT will consider the no-build or “do-nothing” option. People attended in person and via online.
